Apparently Lone Wolf Development (creator of the Army Builder and Card Vault computer programs) are working on some kind of super-tip-top-secret-hush-hush project. Whatever it is they plan to unveil it at GenCon, and even skipped Origins to work full-tilt on it. According to them it is a completely new product and is scheduled for release in October.

<rampant speculation> I can't really think of what other kind of gaming aids they would make unless they're going into the RPG gaming aid market. Maybe it's a smoother interface for making Army Builder or Card Vault datafiles, which is somewhat of a daunting enterprise if you don't have a lot of time to devote to learning the ins and outs of the programs involved. Or it could just be a version of their existing software, my guess would be Card Vault as it hasn't had an update since April 2004. I will say that I've always like the Army Builder program, very handy and reduces arguments when dealing with people you don't normally play with.</rampant speculation>

Turns out the secret project is a PC generation program for RPGs. Here's what they have to say about it:

San Jose, CA – Lone Wolf Development, Inc. (http://theminiaturespage.com/man/lonewolf/), creators of the critically-acclaimed Army Builder and Card Vault software tools for gamers, today announced the Fall 2006 release of their new RPG software, Hero Lab. Using Hero Lab, players create characters, as the software's intuitive user interface enables them to experiment with all applicable options. Every adjustment is automatically tracked, and any potential rules violations are flagged and immediately brought to the user's attention. As characters advance, Hero Lab allows players to chart every stage of their characters' evolution.
"Having developed the industry standard in software for miniatures games and collectible games, roleplaying games were an obvious next step for us," said Lone Wolf Development (http://theminiaturespage.com/man/lonewolf/) President Rob Bowes. "Hero Lab delivers unprecedented levels of flexibility, versatility, and detail to players of the most popular RPGs on the market today."
Utilizing Lone Wolf Development (http://theminiaturespage.com/man/lonewolf/)'s proprietary technology, Hero Lab helps players select from an ever-lengthening list of options, rules, and other information to build precisely the character they want, and the automated rules validation system constantly checks to make sure that every character is legal for play. Consistent with Lone Wolf (http://theminiaturespage.com/man/lonewolf/)'s business model, Hero Lab will support a wide variety of RPG games from throughout the industry.
Hero Lab will retail at $29.99 USD, and will be available from leading hobby retailers, as well as online at wolflair.com (http://www.wolflair.com/).
