View Full Version : Total Testosterone II Winners

Contest
07-01-2006, 03:14 PM
The voting for Total Testosterone II has drawn to a close, and it's time to announce the winners! But first, Wyrd Miniatures would like to thank everyone who joined in this contest, from the sponsors to those that entered, left comments, voted or just browsed the enteries. Thanks go out to you all and we hope that you enjoyed this round of Wyrd contests and join us for the next one!

The polls have closed and because of the holiday, the identities of the painters will be published to their respective pieces in the gallery over the weekend. As of this post, you are welcome (and encouraged!) to show off your entries on other boards, galleries and to reply to comments left on your entry.

Due to some small voter irregularities where individuals created multiple dummy accounts in order to pad votes, we have had to do some editing and those accounts will be contacted and banned from voting ever again. Don't worry if you are a married couple or roomates, we've taken that into consideration, but when mulitple accounts are created one after another and then all vote for practically the same miniatures, then that does create a pattern and an issue. My apologies for anyone affected by this.

Our winners for the Total Testosterone II are:

Congratulations to each and every one of you! If you see your name above, please send a PM to Frustrated Father or the e-mail here on the site and give me your address and all the details that I need for shipping your package. Even if you think that I already have this information, please send it. It helps me organize things on this end and confirms that your package is sent to your current address. Please be aware that I can not spend a grossly large amount of time in trying to contact folks who do not send their information to me as has been the case multiple times in past contests. If you want your goodies drop me a line.

The Wyrd Painting Contest prize packages are sent at my expense, and happily so, but as you can see above, there are quite a few packages to send out. In order to make this as cost effective as possible, I ship everything 'slow boat', meaning the cheapest cost. If you are interested in upgrading your package to priority or airmail for overseas, you are free to make a donation of $3USD to the shipping fund via paypal (nathan@wyrd-games.net). Keep in mind now, that this is COMPLETELY optional, this isn't a 'pad my pockets' scheme, its just available for those of you that want your goodies quicker. Either way, I will be sending out your package at my cost. This excludes any prizes that are required to be shipped as 'slow boat' because of shipping restrictions (such as spray cans) and will have to be shipped that way. If your package has any of those in it and you want faster shipping, I will let you know and we'll make arrangements.

Wyrd Miniatures also extends a very large thanks to our prize sponsors who have gone out of their way to help this happen and to get some goodies to you. You can find their banners, and the links to their sites, to the left. Please take the time to visit their sites and to also let them know how much you appreciate their sponsorhip!

What a fantastic competition! Great theme and some wonderful entries - I thoroughly enjoyed painting my barbarian and have many more ideas for the base (its a bit bigger than it looks from the photos). Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into this contest Nathan (and the rest of the Wyrd team), I am already looking forward to the next one! And another big thankyou to everyone who took the time to vote and comment - cheers!!

Good luck for the next one!

Peter

Thank you, and your welcome. :D That about sums it up in a nutshell.

To expand on that a bit more, thank you to each of you for taking the time to enter the contest or to participate in it in one fashion or another. It is very much appreciated by everyone involved I can assure you.

Huge thanks to our sponsors, whom I'll be putting up e-mail addresses for here soon so that everyone can take a moment to send them a thank you. Really goes a long way in securing future sponsorship - besides, everyone likes to be appreciated for their efforts.

And lastly, very cool that ya'll are enjoying the contest. Still have a few things that I want to work out here soon to make it a bit more enjoyable for everyone, but that is work for the future.

Next contest to be announced in the near future. :D

Congratulations to all the winners! I didn't get to see them until just today due to my only internet access is on my work computer and I've been off since last Friday. Lots of great entries, Peter's barbarian dude is one of my faves. Sorry to all that I wasn't able to comment (being that I'm at work, and gotta keep "fun site surfing" minimal) but I did get to vote in every category. Good job! Hopefully, my life will start settling down and maybe I'll be in on the next one1

Thanks Nathan!

Manufacturers Awards have been announced for Wyrd Miniatures and Privateer Press. Assassin Miniatures offered an award as well, but as a suitable miniature was not submitted it will be used at the discretion of Assassin Miniatures.

Privateer Press - Monster's Ball Entry 3 - Trollblood Warlock by Modelpainter.

Adam who takes care of all the customer service a the front desk (meaning he is a very busy fellow) said that the office had a definitive favorite in the Trollblood Warlock but that all the entries were great and wanted to pass on their thanks to everyone entering.

Wyrd Miniatures - Sci-fi Entry 11, Bishop by Greenstuff.

This was actually a more difficult choice for me than I anticipated but in the end it was the skintones and the overall feeling of the miniature done by Cedric which took the prize as I really enjoyed the darker feel of the miniature and the painting was very well done.

Cindy's Ramos really tugged at me as well as I like the fact that she could tell a story with the miniature and of course Ramos is just a cool figure IMO, but in the end Bishop got me Testosterone factor.

Patrick did an excellent job on his version of Bishop as well. Very clean painting and I like the lighter skin tones that he used, though I think I would have liked to see them framed in by a darker look for the clothing. Patrick won hands down though when it came to the base - always enjoy what he comes up with out of his bitz box, very imaginative.

Congrats Cedric on winning the wyrd award. To be honest I think I prefered yours too for the same reasons as Nathan. So as far as I'm concerned you deserved to win. I loved that fig, brilliantly painted and to be honest fitting the contest also more due to more of a tostesterone overdose ;)

Thank you Cindy :), but I think Edgar should get all the credit since the sculpt of the mini is quite powerful IMHO and was perfect for the contest's theme.

I think your OSL worked out better than mine and the base is great ;).

Speaking of the base, I think Patrick had a good idea raising his Bishop as he did; it gives more magnitude to the character.

Was waiting for some last minute packages to come on in and they have either made it through the door or have been held up for one reason or another. Either way, plenty of goodies to give away.

All the packages have been put together and are ready to go out the door tomorrow. If you were a 'random' anything, you can thank my kids as they were the ones that stuffed your packages - I haven't got a clue what you guys got, but I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.

For those of you getting Testor's cans, they are going out in seperate packages due to having to go ground or sea. It'll be a bit before they get to you most likely, but they are on their way as well.

If you haven't already, PLEASE take a moment to contact the various sponsors and let them know how much you appreciate their support. Without them, these contests would be sort of dull I expect.
