Problem leaving comments [Archive]

For the last couple of days I have been unable to leave quick comments in the galleries.
I type it in and click submit. The page refreshes, but my comment isn't there.

I'll take a look and see what is up with it. Might be a bug from the upgrades.

Has that Quick Reply box always been there?

I must've not noticed it before....

I have had the problem with the FIREFOX browser of not being able to cut and paste....anyone else have that problem?

No, I just added the quick reply boxes with the updates. Works fine in the forums, but seems it might need a bit of tinkering in the galleries. I'm going to look into it.

I have no problem with cutting and pasting at all in IE or Firefox. This whole message is a cut and paste. :D

I have had the problem with the FIREFOX browser of not being able to cut and paste....anyone else have that problem?I had a problem with cut and paste a while ago. I think I was using IE.

I couldn't paste in a large amount, but when I tried with one or two lines it worked okay. Haven't had that problem in a while, but haven't tried lately.

[edit] I am unable to leave comments on pics using "post reply" button either.

Check to see if you are logged in when you go into the galleries. Some folks seem to have a problem of not being logged in when they go to the galleries, but are just fine when they are in the forums. We thought it was Firefox there for a bit, but I and lots of others seem to not have that problem, so it may be settings, security for cookies, etc.

For the future, if ya'll have bugs or issues, let me know what browsers you are using on the off chance it is something that might be browser related.

I'm logged in, I'm using IE. I just cannot leave comments either quick or post under any images in the gallery.

I'll take a look at it tonight when I get back in.

Anyone else having this problem? Care to leave a few comments in the Iron Painter galleries so I can see if this is a general problem or something more pinpoint.

I'm getting the same issues on Firefox and for once it's actually saying I'm logged in. I'll check ie in a bit.

Nope, same issue on IE. The first time I tried it told me that the message was too short, it had to have more then 0 characters. The second time I tried it just reloaded teh page with no change.

Alrighty, try it now. I disabled the quick reply box in the gallery which might very well have been the problem (the more than 0 .. blah, blah).

I've posted to this gallery from two computers (and deleted one).

Okay, I know ya'll are logged in when you come to the forum. Make certain that you are logged in when you go to the gallery (look to see that it says your name, etc).

Also, clear out your cache and cookies. We'll go from there.

Nope. Cache and history cleared, IE, "logged in as vincegamer" appears at the top, but when I hit submit, the page refreshes and my comment isn't there.

Alrighty, well I'm thinking it has to do with the user rights through the software as I can post everything but the rest of ya'll can't. I'm messing with it now, hopefully will have it figured out here shortly, if not, I'll be knocking on the door of the fella that helped setup everything and we'll get it fixed.

AHA!

It was all set to moderation. So your comments have been validated now. Not that I know where the hell to throw the switch to turn off the moderation but one stone at a time, I'm still looking. :D

Well, that's one heart attack avoided, especially with the contest coming to an end here soon.

Apparently it's still set on moderation because my comments aren't showing up.

Someone took the motto "everything in moderation" too seriously.

I've got to edit the settings on that yet, its been a busy week for me between pulling 14 hour shifts at work for the last three weeks, working with printers for packaging, working with sculptors, working with concept artis and working with a software developer to upgrade the website and to integrate a new shopping cart on the site (likely another week before that goes live).

I'll get to it, before the contest entry set date is up if nothing else, I'm slowly whittling down the list, but more things keep getting added to the other end of it.

Permissions should have been changed, let me know if they haven't been.

No moderation for comments or posting in the members galleries or the Iron Painters galleries. Contests will remain moderated for both posts and pictures in order to keep things in hand for the contests.

Still cant post. It keeps giving me the following (yes both IE and Firefox and I'm checking to make sure I'm logged in):

Please complete both the subject and message fields.
The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 0 characters.

As a side not the Gallery tab in the gallery areas gives a broken link.
