Hi folks,

With the entries starting to fly in I'm starting to see some reoccuring issues that I want to go ahead and nip before we get too much further and a whole lot of work gets dropped in my lap.

Take a look at the previous contest galleries, you'll see that each contest entry gets only one (1) spot and that all the pictures are together (layered). So far I have had several entries that upload each view seperately, some with as many as twenty views.

If you have multiple views, and most of us will, take all the pictures and then combine/layer them in photoshop, gimp or some other photo editing software (gimp is free, google it). For the entries that have been submitted with multiple seperate views, I'll go ahead and try and get some time together and combine them, but please, for all future entries, one miniature gets one gallery slot. Its the only way to keep things organized as well as to vote.

Also, there are several contests going on at the moment, not just at Wyrd. If you are entering them as well, please make certain to do so with a different miniature, as the rules state that the entry must be anonymous. I've had to remove three entries now due to that and they were great entries.

Lastly, if you happen to know the manufacturer and name of the miniature that you are entering into the contest, please take a moment to enter the details in the description box provided when you upload your entry. We'll know most of them I gather, but there are some great entries that I'm scratching my head at wondering who made the miniature. Its not a requirement of course, but for those interested it is a nice addition, as well as recognition for those manufacturers.

Thanks again for taking the time to enter the contest. Some great entries to date. March 5th, Midnight is the deadline - that's this Sunday coming. Get to painting!

Much to my surprise, googling "gimp" actually came up with lots of stuff about image editing instead of references to Pulp Fiction or sexual aberrations.

Well, if they are on the internet, or in another contest, and I find them, or someone else points them out, then they are disqualified. If you have a question about it, it might be something that should be thought over and let me know about it before we get into the process of voting and polls as that makes things much more time consuming, not to mention irritating, for myself and the moderators.

Heyas Witchfire. Hopefully this post will clear up a few things for anyone with questions about being disqualified. All of the rules are fairly straightforward and shouldn't be hard to follow.

You will be disqualified if:

1). (the most common). You post a picture of your contest entry, or it appears, in any form of online media. To keep the contest fair and all painters anonymous, miniatures entered into the contest can not be displayed or distributed outside of the contest until it is over. This includes CMoN, online magazines, forums, blogs, livejournals, AIMs, emails, submitting it to other contests before the close of the Wyrd one it's entered into and anywhere the picture gets shown around, etc. Basicly your picture shouldn't be seen anywhere, by anyone, outside of the contest pictures on Wyrd until after the contest is over. This also extends to announcing anywhere, such as in forums, I'm painting a XXX for the contest. The goal here is to try to give everyone a fair contest.

2). Spamming the contest gallery with pictures. As refered to in Nathan's post, please keep it to one picture. It's perfectly okay, and encouraged, to add front, back and side shots into a panorama image. The reason is that the gallery software can only support one picture per voting entry. If you need help, please feel free to post on the boards ask for help with photoshop, or free programs such as GIMP and IrFanView. We'll try to fix as many that were submitted as possible, but it is time consuming and will delay the voting while we do so. So please, if it's possible for you to do it yourself, please do. If you were one of the folks that submitted along the lines of 20+ seperate pictures, please pick your views, use one of the above listed programs and place them all in a single image and resubmit. That's far to many to be able to handle for you. If you are unsure if you need to resubmit feel free to PM either me or Nathan and we will double check for you.

3). You put the same miniature in several catagories. The rules allow for it to be in one only, and while this isn't a disqualification, per say, your entry will be deleted out of all catagories but one. So if you entered one into several and only see it in one catagory when the galleries are up...this is why.

NOTE: The above listed are only the, to date, the most common reasons for being disqualified and are not inclusive. You would also be disqualified if you do not follow any of the rules listed here. (http://wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?t=450)

If you have broken the above rules, then you will be disqualified.

If you have done any of the above, or don't follow the few others listed on the rules page, then you will be disqualified and receive an email notification from us.

If you have done any of the above and have not received an email notification, you will as we sort through entries for the voting.

If your picture doesn't show up in the galleries, and didn't receive an email notification, it was likely disqualified. If that happens check with us so we can make sure that was the case vs a glitch.

I hope this clears up any confusion. If you have any questions please do post or PM them. :)

Or if your like me, announce what you are painting publically in protest of certain practices by some companies.

Now where is my sign of protest and guitar to play for spare change?
