Some news from Magnificent Egos (known in my book for some truly odd minis :)) has announced the following:

Introducing Magnificent Egos Heroes & Villains: a new series of fully assembled, ready for play miniatures from Magnificent Egos Miniatures. The new line features some of our most popular characters and monsters and includes conversions, re-sculpts and some brand new, never before released miniatures. These miniatures are made from a flexible resin and are cast as a single piece, but still have all the dynamics and details you have come to expect from Magnificent Egos Miniatures. We started as a company that supports painters, so none of our products are pre-painted. However, you can say goodbye to the pin vice and glue.
The first set releases August 18th and will be followed every month with more plastic goodness. The first three releases are available now for pre-order from your local retailer, magnificentegosminis.com, fantization.com and paizo.com

I'm kinda of two minds about this idea. Good for those who just want to paint and play, not so good for those who like the greater ability to customize with assembled minis. I hope the detail isn't lost as the top one look like he was carved from candle wax and has melted slightly. I have the last one in metal form (Mistress of Ravens I think she's called) and she is a bit confusing with her partial "wreaths" of birds in bitz form, but I kinda like it that way.

And how flexible is "flexible"? I know some resin is somewhat flexible but will still snap if bent too far, of is thiers more "rubbery"?

Please, dont buy ME minis,...they dont like to pay sculptors for her work . ( probably to reduce her production costs :D)
Lot of sculptors have problems with this bad company .

This is not the first dodgy thing I've heard about ME, but most of it has been sort of half-whispers kind of stuff. I'd encourage the sculptors who have been affected by this to make a public statement on a few different places. My guess is a lot of consumers would like to have information like this to consider in making decisions about purchasing.

Good to know for the future. I'd like to hear from the sculptors, like Wren suggested. If they're giving the sculpters of the world the shaft and not paying them for their art, I'd like for more people to know.

Unfortunatly, it is alway difficult for a sculptor to attack a foreign company (it very very very too expensive :( ) . I know that I will probably never see my money (Many pledges …..and always nothing ... ), it is a shame that they cast and sell unpaid minis but I'm very angry when I think that they can perhaps trick other new/young sculptors .
Fortunately bad companies like ME are very rare.

I wonder if posting about this at CMON (since it's one of the biggest mini sites around) and asking for a boycott of ME minis would "persude" them to get their sculptors paid?

Just a thought...

Looking at these and a lot of the other stuff doesn't look like a boycott will cause me to lose any sleep...... cheers for the heads up Gael always good to hear the info from the horses mouth and certainly something I would support any sculptor in.. There are enough people getting "the shaft" (as brushmistress so politely put it:D) and if I can do my small part to put a stand against it then I have no problem.. sculptors are the unsung heroes and foundation of this whole hobby.....
