I had planned on making a fairly large diorama with the Ortegas for the TT4 contest, but time got the better of me. I put both of them on plain bases so that they could be inserted into the bigger scene, but could be removed if need be.

Still working on getting smooth transitions.

I'll post the rest of the group as I get them done.

Sweet, someone finally used the extra piece of dynamite!

Good looking stuff, Bryan! I think you did an excellent job on Santiago--the leather and denim looks very good. Papa Loco is very well done also. I think a bit of darklining around the straps/buckles on the back would help it to "pop" a bit more.

Sweet, someone finally used the extra piece of dynamite!

I had wondered where to put it...

Yeah these look really nice Hinton. That scarf is brave, but looks cool and fits his "loco-ness" perfectly. Well done.

-Do you (or anyone) have any tips on denim? I've been meaning to do some up but I'm nervous I'll end up with just blue clothes! Thanks

Yes, would like to know what colors you used on the coat and denim myself. Trying to eyeball the right 'cowboy' colors isn't easy.

Thanks for the comments, all; I do appreciate them.

Yeah, I always wondered why no one used that extra stick of TNT, so I decided to go with it and see how it turned out.

As for the denim, I use Reaper's MSP Grey Blue triad (Midnight Blue, Twilight Blue and Snowshadow). The highest highlights are a 50/50 mix of Snowshadow and Leather White.

For the leather coat, pretty sure (can't remember exactly because I was expermenting with some different mixtures at the time for browns) that I used RMSP Oiled Leather mixed with the Warm Deep Browns triad, about a 75/25 OL/everything else. So, for the shadows, 75/25 Oiled Leather and Muddy Brown; highlights 75/25 Oiled Leather and Leather Brown. For the highlights I used 50/50 Leather Brown and Leather White; the highest highlights are Leather White.

Very nice. Can't wait to see the rest of the gang! I think muted colors and earthtones are definitely your strong suit. It will go well with the "Western" look of this group.

Good job! :bigok:
