First of all, I want to thank everyone who took the time to comment on this guy during the contest. Secondly, thanks to the folks that voted for him--I was happy as I could be I managed to get anything at all against the stellar competition this year. Last, but not least, a quick shout out to Lunchbox for his guidance on this little project.

A few folks had commented on the webs. It was quite simple, really. I took one of my wife's make-up remover cotton balls and teased the individual fibers out until the individual strands were separated and glue them in place with standard PVA glue. I think the key was separating out the individual fibers; it helped to get the right scale for the webbing. I added them in small bits as well to gradually build up the density of the webbing (sounds a lot like painting, huh? :)).

Anyway, thanks again to everyone as well as the awesome Wyrd crew for yet another excellent contest.

Thanks for the info on the webs. I'll have to keep that in mind if I ever do a dungeon/abandoned setting.

As I said in the comments, it's a great paint job and a very nice base.

hmmm the warp strikes again.. I posted a reply to this earlier??

anyways looks great.. I'm a bit naughty and didn't get round to commenting on TT entries I will rectify that when I get a minute ..

anyways this is a great piece ..if i was gonna offer anything constructive it would be to do a few very very light glazes here and there to just smoothen out the blends a touch here and there..

The base is great .. again one thing to always bear in mind o this style of base.. is the back part.. either make it textured a bit more so it is part of the bae or make it smooth to make a nice clean back. this can be done either with putty or thin plasticard or even just sellotape..

picky points but it's been great watching your painting develop and next year I think you will kick a few asses here and there.

A very fun piece Sean and has a serious D&D feel to it and the cobwebs are a lot of fun.

Well done!
