The great comedic legend passed away yesterday afternoon.

Was a bit surprised at this, but, he had a long run on things so good for him.

Got to see him in '94 in San Francisco. I laughed so hard I was hurting the rest of the evening.

He was an amazing comedian, and a brilliant man. I'm deeply saddened by this loss, but know that his routines and commentary will live on long after him.

I couldn't have said it better. I first listened to him on vinyl about 40 years ago. This makes me sad.
