comment: Nice work! Good composition and attention to detail. Maybe the skin could have a bit more depth, and the hair looks a bit like black hair with very stark, blue highlgihts. I'd like to have seen a bit more of the midtones there.
Commander Y
theme: 4.5
technique: 4

comment: This is a very well composed little scene. Poor little bonejack... I think the large areas of troll skin could have a bit more depth to them. Certain areas could do with a lot deeper shading.
Darklord
theme: 5
technique: 3
overall: 7.5
comment: A very funny idea! I love the little bomb in the goblin's belly. A clever idea to bring the smack talk into your entry! The wall and floors could do with a few colour shifts to bring a little more variation to the large areas.
Ben$quig
theme: 4.5
technique: 4.5
overall: 8.5
comment: A very nice piece! I like the colour you've painted the bones in. Makes them look aged. Metallics are also well done. Some areas could be a little bit smoother, but it's only a minor point.
Morf
theme: 4
technique: 4.5
overall: 8
comment: This is a very nicely painted mini and I love the colours you've used. I do feel that there's a bit too much of midtones in it and not enough deep shading and bright highlights. Makes the thing look a bit too pastely, if you see what I mean... Some of the transitions between smooth skin and fur also look a bit blurry and undefined (especially in the abdomen area where the transition looks like a flat brown space). Minor points, but they stand out to me...
Brushmistress
theme: 4
technique: 4.5
overall: 8.5
comment: A very moody and atmospheric piece! I realise that the background increases the effect, but I don't have a big problem with that. It's very well painted too. I think the red, while very well shaded, lacks a bit in the highlighting. This may very well be a photography effect as I know from experience that red is very difficult to capture correctly.
Paintingploddy
theme: 3.5
technique: 4

comment: I really like the colour scheme with its overall dark colours coupled with the bright purple. Some areas could be a bit smoother, but the piece still has a very strong appearance.
Thryth
theme: 2.5
technique: 3.5
overall: 7.5
comment: I know you had bigger plans for this and thus, it's understandable the theme ingredient is a bit weak. But, you have a finished piece and it's a lot better than not having anything! The mini is mostly well done, but it lacks a bit of definition in certain areas. There could be some sharper highlights in places, and some dark lining, to give better definition.
Lukan Sanath
theme: 3.5
technique: 3.5
overall: 7.5
comment: I have a bit of a difficulty reading this entry properly, due to a lot of very bright colours that clash a bit with each other, and the pictures look as they might be a bit over-exposed. The green, for instance, look almost fluorescent, and the nmm seems to be lacking shading. But other areas look really well done, like the red carapace on the big guy. The ground work seems of decidedly lower quality than the miniatures.
LavronYor
theme: 2.5
technique: 3
overall: 6.5
comment: Sorry you didn't have more time to spend on your entry, but at least a finished piece is better than nothing. The biggest problem with this, for me, is that it's so dark with very little variation. While this may be very true to the character it makes for a rather un-impressive competition entry.
Bexley
theme: 5
technique: 4.5

comment: A lovely entry! I like the idea and the execution is really top notch! Maybe you could have increased the shading of the stone on the throne a bit more, but otherwise this looks really, really great. Great face too!

tehcnique: 3.5

comment: I didn't really get the theme idea here without reading your description, thus the 3. Painting wise, this is rather well done, but the shading of the golden armour details is lacking and making the armour look a bit blurry and undefined. Also, I have a problem with the colouring of the blades which doesn't seem to blend that well together. Maybe that's due to the lack of shading, which makes the blade look like a strange mix of colours instead of metal?

Really nicely done sir. I’ve seen a few attempts at this sculpt and this is the first one I’ve seen that makes me like it.The painting throughout is top notch and the construction of the whole scene and how the elements tie together really works well.. good job.

Another great looking troll and kudos for sticking to a self restricted theme..The wrecked jacks are great I really like the fragmented parts and the little spring in there etc are nice little touches.. A big ol Beasty with an attitude you can feel. My only picky point is I would like to see a little more variation in the tones of the skin on such a large beasty.. however this doesn’t take anything away from another great piece..

Love it.. made me laugh and despite not been the strongest overall paintjob in parts this is more than made up for by a combination of humour and very clever little pieces. The dodgy looking tools , The wall detail, the footprints and of course the x-ray all give something interesting to look at each time I view.. great job.

I like this one and he is a great character for the theme he has certainly bad to more than his fair share of bones however the overall effect has been spoiled a little for me by a couple of things.. Firstly the speech bubble..Sorry it’s just distracting.Secondly the base itself although a nice pile of bones it would be nice to see it attatched to something or blended into some groundwork.. As it stands it kinda feels unfinished. Great job on the metallics and the purple OSL though and overall Tis very nice.

Nicely done reds… First up not a big fan of the PS background.. A) because the colours distract from the model a bit and the whole thing just gets lost a little and B) I just don’t like them…. However I see why you have gone for the colour you have the whole underbelly of hell type thing so forgiven but TBH I would stick to normal plain backgrounds in the future.. your painting is good enough to not need anything flash in the background to help…
Anyways nicely executed well chosen piece.. The resin is a bit off.. not sure what you used to colour it but tamiya clear red works well .. Only a little bit mind.. and underpainting the pieces that will be submerged in yellow and pink goes a long way to making a clear but coloured effect. Or dark like blood.
I am in the camp of would love to see a little dirtying up here and there to really bring it to life but overall it works for me.

What a shame you didn’t get to finish the full idea I hope you go back to it.. The painting on seb is great although I find the blue a bit unfinished looking.. maybe a bit of blood and the odd bone piece on the base would have helped lift the theme..however Kudos for not DNF’ing…

Great choice of models but at the risk of sounding like the other comments the green is killing it… Good idea and the painting is fine but that green just dominates too much and draws away from the nicer painted elements.. always ambitious to do a diorama style entry in IP but great attempt.. The ground and pillar could benefit from a few different colours maybe a few splatters and stains here and there to feel more finished..

This is really great.. It’s the simplest I’ve seen that throne painted and I wish now I had gone ahead and got one.. The back of the throne acts as a great surprise and adds a lot of interest without distracting from the scene..Alyx is framed perfectly within the throne and the use of the colours there naturally draw the eye correctly to the focal point.. The dead skelly speaks of her journey .. a pleasure to view good job.
