I was just wondering why FRP Games has pictures of the 2 new upcoming releases (Lady Justice-Death Hunter & Rusty Alice- Steampunk Mercenary) from Wyrd and they're not shown here first?

Interesting, thanks for letting me know. Distributors and retailers know about the upcoming but weren't supposed to post anything. Looks like I've got some leaky holes to stop up.

The greens aren't what I wanted to advertise with as I wasn't happy with the picture quality, thus I didn't show them off here.

Are there no NDA like contracts with retailers ? "secrecy" is often breached by retailers.
and I noted before when you keep your eye open you can find sneak previews of many products trough some retailer sites.
(with videogames and especially new consoles its often even worse, with retailers somtimes selling stuff long before the official releasedate, it happened here with the release of the wii and it caused quite some complaining, as people that started looking for the wii on the release date found it was allready sold out O_o )

but there must be something that can be done to prevent this, or is it that companies are so dependant of retailers, that there is actually not much you can do about this ? apart from friendly confrontation (wich in business is probably pointless :))

I don't know how it is with mini companies, but i know for video games and computer games there are all kinds of financial penalties, however based on Privateer Press' history I'm guessing the most that can be done is the whole, "bad retailer" and in Nathan's case he might be able to withhold information from said retailer in the future

We don't actually sell direct to FRP, they pick up through a distributor, but regardless, spilled milk and all that. I normally play my cards fairly close to the vest but retailers and distributors have been clamoring for more so I decided to see how that would go this time around.

Btw, I heard from one company that they've sent concepts of future minis to the distribution AND surprise surprise, a month later there is a green of their mini posted by other company...

No, not a controlled leak, but a stopped up one for all future ones that's for sure.

As for concept art, there is a very good reason why we don't show it until the miniature is finished up and ready to go for all practical purposes.
