Im new to Wyrd , I've played 40K for around 15 years but was put off of other companies years ago by Ral Parther ( I never really liked the look of them).
Other than Wyrd are there any other manufacturers that people would recomend?
I like off the wall minis and some of the more ahem... adult themed minis I've seen
One other company i really like the look of is Anima Tactics, I'm in the uk so if anyone knows of any independant stockists in the south east that would also be great.

are you looking for just miniature manufacturers or manufacturers who also have their own game to go with it.

First thing springing to mind is Helldorado, off the wall check, adult themed double check ;)
another definitely edgy game is Spinespur. tough quite different than Helldorado. (modern horror.)

if you like the Animish side of Anima tactics, you might like Infinity, its a scifi game by corvus belli.

the game Alkemy sounds like a great game to me (have yet to read it trough.), and while looking good the miniatures are not off the wall, nor adult themed (mind you dont mean they are cliche or boring, I mean they are more subtle than the above games.)

as for miniatures, from the sound of things Enigma might be your cup of tea, yes they are all in a photography pose, but as I recently started painting again I found out I actually prefer those poses over dynamic ones >_< (from a easyness of painting pov that is.)

tough, I must say that european miniature companies tend to focus on highly proffesional paintjobs on their miniatures, wich sometimes might result in dissapointment to the actual miniatures themselves when not prepared for it, where I think UK and US companies often have primed, gamers paintjobs or bare metal pictures, and in the flesh the miniatures are always better than seen online :)

hope it helps

I'll see what I can figure out.

Anima is distributed in the UK by Esdevium. Call them and they can tell you where to buy locally.

(I am uncertain of UK phone number formatting, so that is a copy and paste. Hopefully it makes sense.)

I started out more into the gaming side of things but to be honest I'm more interested in just really nice looking minis now. Something i can take my time painting and still be fun to look at when it's done. As a side note to be honest i'm also pretty sick of paying metal prices for plastic minis, the final straw being when i looked on the US GW site and saw that the Soulgrinder mini was $20 cheaper in the States than it is over here (where its made!)
Many thanks for the feedback

Actually, GW has production facilities in the US as well, so US minis are actually made here, with the exception of occasional special limited releases.

I stand corrected! I'm used to being wrong

I think you can be forgiven. It's not like it's a well-publicized fact.
