Here's one for white marble. Don't know of any for black marble.

This tutorial is for green marble (http://www.hot-lead.org/advance/texturing_marble.htm), but the general technique should apply to a variety of colours. I've used it to paint white before.

Are you looking for something similar to my Jolie WIP? I can whip something up very quickly if need be, but it is based on the article Wren referenced.

I have dabbled a bit in black marble as well.

What I did was simple:
1 - thin layer of suitable non-porous surface (in this case apoxie clay), primed black
2 - Place alot of water until the surface is covered. An eye dropper or pipette would work for this, or a fairly large brush. You want the surface tension to be at the edges. If you are doing tiles, I suggest using a masking fluid, or maybe cut bits of tape to cover other areas.
3 - Just dip your brush in your paint (just the tip mind) and move it in random directions in the water.
4 - Change colors and repeat step 3.
5 - This is going to take a few layers so be patient and let it dry on its own or you will get pooling, even on a flat surface.
6 - layer of 'ardcoat to polish it up.

It looks very realistic. Thanks.
