More than a few of you have been asking either publicly or privately about who goes where, does what, and how the heck everything ties in together.

Not going to answer all of that, but I figured I would go ahead and start giving you a break down a bit more cohesively on where individual miniatures are going as well as the factions as they are set as of this moment (granted, things are apt to change, but I don't expect much, if at all with the faction deployment).

Killjoy can work for Lilith? I didn't think I could like this upcoming game anymore but I was wrong. I'm big on aesthetics which was why I chose Lilith and had already decided that I was going to pick up Killjoy on my next order just because I always liked the mini. Thanks for keeping my anticipation going.

Thanks for the groupings. (aren't Mercenaries a nice "catch-all" category ;))

I am really liking the guild. Gotta build up my force by GenCon. Who knows I may get use of them. :)

I like the guild also, but I think that I will likely end up a neverborn or arcanist player...

one of these days nathan needs to institute a website change to let people align themselves with a faction...then there could be faction battles in the forums...etc...something fun to go along with all this experience/levels things he's put into place

Arcanist are my second fav model wise.

I need to start basing (or re-basing) my models.

Is there any chance of having a central document of all the modes out there and what is their appropriate base size should be?

On the list of things to do, though likely won't go into place until much later in the year when more information on the factions and the game is made public.

Cool, I accidently managed to get the entire Resurrectionist faction in one fell swoop. Of course, my only games are of the solo variety, so faction carry somewhat less weight with moi. However, if my fortunes change, I'm all set to throw down.

That'll be Eric's pet project in the near future.

I'm curious - are the Catacomb Prowlers going to fit into the game at all, or are they reserved strictly for hobby purposes and rpg type stuff?

They are at the moment reserved for Hobby and RPG purposes, though there is something planned around them for the future. Right now we're focusing on Malifaux, once that is done and running, we hope to be able to get CP a proper work over. At the moment we're looking at it in the form of a board game.

Good bit off for that though.

Uh oh, I shouldn't have asked - now I'm going to want to know everything about the board game! I thought waiting for Malifaux alone was hard enough, now you've gone and made it even worse!!!

I know its a long ways off, but 2 suggestions about the board game:

1. Try to make some, if not all of the Miniatures playable in the game, not just CP stuff. It would be great to take some of the characters like Ramos or Viktoria through some sort of board game quest. It would be great to be able to use painted stuff from Malifaux to help flesh out a board game with lively characters. This is one of the things that Rackham really had going for them - all their characters and games existed in the same universe and were usable throughout all the games. It really helped ease the workload of getting miniatures ready for the different games.

2. 3-D scenery/furniture. Heroquest is one of the greatest examples of a successful boardgame in this genre. Of course it had a pretty fluid game system, but one of the biggest reasons it was so widely recognized and liked was the 3-D customizable layouts of the board. It really helped bring the board game to life. I've played other games since then that had similar mechanics but didn't have the 3-D customizable board layout, and they were a lot less fun and FORGETTABLE.

So where is the vampire dude?

Heh, I wondered how long it would be before someone noticed. I actually didn't say anything specifically as I was curious how long it would take someone to say something.

Vasyl has been pulled from the range. He was an awkward miniature and quite frankly he didn't sell well in the least and it was time to make new molds for him and he just didn't make the cut. He's sort of our 'closet child' and one we're going to continue to keep in the dark.

Good spot Morf.......
I have to admit I've always kind of struggled to think of him fitting anywhere...

So, now I have a rare, and highly sought-after miniature, right? :)

Although, I like the miniature, I think that the little pieces made it a real pain to assemble.

Exactly.

Actually, some of our first pieces were a bit fiddly in some regards. Chalk it up to a learning curve, but I think we learned fairly quickly and what we've got now goes together much easier and we've taken the time to think out what and how to put a miniature together and how to produce it.

Some of the pieces we've got will see a resurrection of sorts down the road with re-sculpts but that's for the future, right now we're just going to focus on filling out our factions and doing a good job at it.

Once a sniper, always a sniper.
Poor Vasyl the Ice-Skater. I had a thing for that guy.

I gotta say you are one of the few companies I am aware of that is NOT desperate for resculpts of their first miniatures. They still look great!

First, sorry if I am semi-rezing this older thread, but it didn't seem that old.
Second, I see how the breakdowns work, guild, ressurectionists, arcanists, ect. But how would interfaction breakdowns work.
Like if your using the guild, could you have Sonnia Criid leading your force, could you fill the rest of it out with ortegas or deathmarshals even though Criid specializes in witch hunting, not neatherborn nor necro hunting. Likewise could you put some witchling stalkers in a force lead by Justice or one that is predominantly deathmarshal.

So what about the Death Marshals? Are they to be Guild also? This will play a large role in what my first miniature range will be.

Yup, they are in the Guild.

Is this list going to be updated anytime? On a regular basis? Or are there plans to roll this type of thing into the next update of the site/forum?

This is a great resource.

With the site update we'll be doing a whole section devoted to factions, background information and naturally the miniatures that are within it.

Granted, I'm still looking for that website developer that can do the job like we want/need. It'll get done though between now and the end of the year, sooner than later hopefully.
