Is it just my browser that always says that the most users ever was 1 on 12-31-69?
It catches my eye everytime so I had to ask.

Nope, mine says so too. At 7:00 pm to boot. Always thought that was kind of funny.

Something I've worked on off and on since I did a forum upgrade on the software at one time. Haven't been able to chase down the culprit but its on my to do list soon as I can figure it.
This is a sort of default error date that shows up on computers all the time. I remember my comp sci roomie explaining it to me once, but I don't have much memory for technical details. Hopefully this wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_epoch) will explain it more articulately.

well the date is the Unix time known as the Epoch, whichi is considered 00:00:00 on 1/1/1970; which is considered the start of computing.

GMT, I believe. ;)
UTC doesn't take into account things like daylight savings and leap seconds. :D

I just got slapped-down at work on this. Apparently, UTC = GMT since 1972: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utc
