Carlos
« In God's name, Hurry ! We are going to die ... We're gonna die !!
- Shut up! He's coming ... Where the heck are those damn keys ???
- Are you sure it is him? That's impossible.
- Of course it's Carlos! I do not know what was in that vial in lab 7, but it splattered his arm this morning when the vial broke.
- And it turned him into... this thing?
- Quiet! He sounds close and seems determined to find us! If I could just find the right key, we could get out of here and find some hel... RRRHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!
- (choir) AAAAHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... »

Furgol
"The creature walked towards us, stumbling in the growing darkness that accentuated the pale lividity of its unnatural skin. His rusty weapon swung at the same erratic rhythm of his walk, like it was trying to compensate for its owner’s precarious balance. We should have been terrified by this warped creature who could feel but hatred for us.

But strangely its decrepit aspect awakened nothing but pity in us. Seeing it so heinously target our lives, we could not help but be touched by Furgol and his appealing mediocrity."

The Arctic Imperator
And so he stood at the heart of his Empire, enforcing his iron will on the frozen land of his kingdom of ice.
Beak raised towards the sky, he was unable to see those he considered his subjects on the ground around him; subjects who did not listen to him whatsoever.
They did not care about this emperor; the kiss of the sun would reveal that his empire, like his ambition, was nothing but water.

I think I have a new favorite mini! I MUST get my hand on an Arctic Imperator, I pretty much love every thing about it. Man I wish the Kraken stuff was easier to get.

I can see the 'frenchness' of them.

IE....WEIRD!

I think they're magnificent! A bit understated perhaps, but oozing with character and, yes, weird(french)ness!

Yeah, I'm sorry if I sounded as if I was bashing them! I'm not. They are very characterful indeed!

But of all the Europeon countries, it seems France is always a bit off kilter...just outside the norm. It's wonderful and interesting, but just bizarre. They seem to have a different take on just about everything.

I don't notice it as much from other Europeons.

Am I seeing something that isn't there, or do others have this opinion too?

They eat chocolate bread....for breakfast.

A start like that to the day is bound to mean crazy things will follow!

I know what you mean Jim.. The French seem to do a lot more perversing anatomyand work within smoother forms than the norm.Their painting is also very stylised The French love playing with colours and light and they generally stand out in a crowd... There is a kind of style there that has developed a lot through I think the strength of the painters in France over recent years and the way they do community style projects... The second one in particular has a real French feel....

@ritual same price to UK admittedly 5 euros more than the models but the exchange rate means the total cost of order is good... considering I recently ordered some Hell Dorado pieces and was charged 3 times the model cost to ship it ain't too bad..

Jim, no worries! I see exactly what you mean. Yes, they seem to push things a bit further than most people do. In my eyes, that's a good thing! And, whatever anyone may think about it, it's definitely original and it opens up new doors. I think even people who strongly dislike the French whimsicalness sooner or later benefits from it in one way or another.

@demonherald
Yes, I've had even more expensive shipping from other French companies, but I still think it's kind of hairy. Shipping from the States usually is half the price. Another weird thing is that the price of the minis dropped with 2 euro when I logged in. :hmmmm:

Yeah I noticed that too..hmmm...some of the shipping costs out and about are a bit mental..I wouldn't mind if they were all the same but they vary so much.. The Spanish seem to be good .. Dark slave and enigma both have good costs...I guess the hardest thing is putting an average on the price.. btw if you are still after the JMD daemoness Arcane miniatures had a few left when I checked....
