ok, so I've been thinking a while about do a mini VERY stylized similar to Brute paintings and 2d artwork. I thought the CMON contest was a good rational for doing something a bit off the main stream in painting like this. For those who don't know, look here:
Brute Site (http://www.bruteprop.com/v1/core.html)
I really can't think of a good mini to do this on. Really looking for either male or female. Basically it can't have too much sculpted on detail, as that won't lend itself to this style. Any thoughts?

The first thing that comes to mind is of course Hasslefree... Maybe some of the zombie hunters? Or one of the naked chics...

ooh, good thought, those are simple-ish minis that may work well...

Yes, and I bet there's at least a few minis that would suit the Brute style.

I can't remember, but did I send you one of the i-kore elf archers? I thought so?Maybe a good test piece to see if Kev's sculpts work for you.

I'll have to check my little pile of minis from cindy :)

I've got three of the evil bastards if you want to have a go at it in a Brute style. I'm sure we can work out something ...

I always thought the Reaper Warbride would look good in that style since she's very "angular". Or maybe it's just me...
Just a thought:
See her here: Warbride (http://reapermini.com/gallery/overlordsu/14128_G_001)
So are you actually gonna enter this competition??
(right! :bird: )

there is a lot about her that's good, but I think there is too much detail, and not enough room for the stylized shading :(
As for the competition...this is for my SECOND entry, since my first one is nearly done...so THERE! :reddy:

Bah! I'll believe it when I see it! :spank:
More ideas for you to shoot down:
You want something more simplistic? How about a WarCrow mini like this one (http://www6.mailordercentral.com/thewarstore/prodinfo.asp?number=WCR300210&variation=&aitem=13&mitem=48), or that one (http://www6.mailordercentral.com/thewarstore/prodinfo.asp?number=WCR300212&variation=&aitem=15&mitem=48), or even this other one (http://www6.mailordercentral.com/thewarstore/prodinfo.asp?number=WCR300215&variation=&aitem=18&mitem=48).

Seems appropriate...

I've nearly finished painting a set of these figures, they might suit your purpose. The bald chaps in coats are particularly good with vast expanses of smooth lead to play with. The style is very direct also, reminded me of the early Mr. X work which is similar in style to Brute stuff.
Anyway, just a suggestion.

Judging by the facial expressions on the link you gave I suggest
Spyglass: Kage Dar

thanks for the ideas everyone, you have me looking in places I might not have seen :)
always open to more, I think a lot of these are pretty good and would work, but still not seeing something that just yells at me to do this. :(

Okay, but this is my last suggestion:
Doc Savage ("Doc Thompson" to avoit copyright) by Pulp Figures.
Heck, tons of things by pulp, like the nazis or US marines, or rocket corps, or Jasper Gutworth, etc.
The pulp figures line is just screaming for the comic-art black and white treatment.
You can find them here (http://www.pulpfigures.com/catmain.php?custID=7017871621134687714)
