View Full Version : Wyrd Benefit for Hearing Aids; part II
Frustrated Father
12-05-2007, 04:17 PM
As many of you know, one of our own in the miniature community has a son who is in need of hearing aids and is just a wee tyke. Unfortunately, the costs for the hearing aids is extensive, costing $5000USD and this is all coming out of their personal funds unless they wish to wait another year or more before an agency is willing to help in this aspect.
Maya and her family have been ebaying most of their hobby collection and supplies in order to raise the money and several individuals and companies have come forward with product donations in order to help, including our own donation of a studio painted miniature of Perdita - Ortega Gunslinger, which is currently being auctioned right now.
In an effort to speed along the process though we here at Wyrd will donate $2USD to the fund for Alex's hearing aids for every Golem that is purchased during the month of December with the total donation to be deposited towards the benefit account on December 31st.
Regards,
Nathan

That's very cool of you to do, Nathan. Hopefully news of this is being spread to other sites as well.
Come on, folks! It's a very cool mini and it's going to a very worthy cause.

Nice one Wyrd, again!
Who painted that Golem? It's excellent! Rob?
I would have guessed Eric, but the two photographs are a bit different in the pic of the Golem and Rasputina.
*EDIT* Ignore that, i'v just looked at the store.

yep, wanted another golem done up just to show off how versatile the mini is, with arm and leg modifications. And yeah, this one was done by Rob (demonhearald)

Is there some kind of fund I can donate directly to in order to help out? I'll order the Golem of course, but I'd like to donate more than just $2.

Thank you for the offer Eldanesh, but we aren't accepting personal donations anymore. (reason can be found here http://wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?t=3418) however, if you would like to help out more and get some nice little figures in return, please feel free to bid on our auctions or buy something from our store. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZanatoraQQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0

Hehe, being compared to Eric isn't somthing everyone hears everyday! Just the way you have used the full spectrum from black to white, which is very reminiscent of Eric style. But the base with the tinted resin was very similar to you Warrior Priest, so I was a little thrown off and couldn't quite put my finger on who's it was.
Lovely colour scheme though! It the type of one you wouldn't think about until you have seen it! Must be cool coming up with colour schemes for the Wyrd range which people will then copy on their own figures. Doesn't get much more influential than that! And we all know imitation is the best form of flattery!
