Man to many figs from Ilyad I like, this being no exception (in fact it's one of the nicer ones)... but they are damn pricey and I prefer metal over resin.

I think if he had ONE axe it would look alright, perhaps if he had it in a two handed grip. Two axes that size though just look silly. Love the hair.

This one and the female are excellent. What is the price range? And is resin any different to paint?

They're expensive, £6 or £7 per human figure, sometimes more. The resin paints easily though and allows for very thin weapon blades and excellent detail. My 'giant babies' are from Illyad, sadly I've taken the photo too close and so it just shows my bad painting rather than the greatness of the figures. You'll have to take my word for it that they're detailed :D

Too much $$! My recent interest in historicals has made me Cheap! If I can get 8 Artizan Paratroopers for the price of 1 barbarian, ...well, you know the answer.

He's almost excellent, but there's a few things that annoy me. The axes aren't great, and why do barbarians sport such finely wrought filligree on their armour?? Too fancy for this brute if you ask me. Why do sculptors feel the need to cover EVERY surface of a mini in elaborate detail? This one would definitely have been far superior with less 'bling'.

Bloody filligree. Should be banned on minis. Pointless detail that just spoils what would have been nice areas to paint. File it off!!!

You know...if they make a few more like this (and sans filigree) this would make fantastic conversion material for a Necromunda Goliath gang...a little more feral than the juiced-up pansy boys they are now.

Mini looks great, but gota agree with spacemunkie on the fligrees, damn anoying.
As for resin, it paints the same as metal, but is easier to clean up, and to convert, nd a lot smoother. But some people (including me) actually like the minis to be slightly rougth. Realy smooth minis are pain to paint :P

But he's the barbarian CHAMPION, which means he looted the armor from the paladin he probably just beat the crap out of. Hence the fancy filligree. ;)


Personally, I like him, just not those earring-looking things, they don't go with his outfit.
