Congratulations to each and every one of you! If you see your name above, please send a PM to Frustrated Father (http://wyrd-games.net/private.php?do=newpm&u=1) here on the site and give me your address and all the details that I need for shipping your package or getting your gift certificate to you. Read that last sentence again - PM me, don't e-mail me, PM me. It is how I keep track of information and e-mails are liable to get mixed up amongst the hundred or so I get a day. Even if you think that I already have this information, please send it. It helps me organize things on this end and confirms that your package is sent to your current address. Please be aware that I can not spend a grossly large amount of time in trying to contact folks who do not send their information to me as has been the case multiple times in past contests. If you want your goodies drop me a line.

The Wyrd Painting Contest prize packages are sent at my expense, and happily so, but as you can see above, there are quite a few packages to send out. In order to make this as cost effective as possible, I ship everything 'slow boat', meaning the cheapest cost. If you are interested in upgrading your package to priority or airmail for overseas, you are free to make a donation of $3USD to the shipping fund via Paypal (nathan@wyrd-games.net (nathan@wyrd-games.net)). Keep in mind now, that this is COMPLETELY optional, this isn't a 'pad my pockets' scheme, its just available for those of you that want your goodies quicker. Either way, I will be sending out your package at my cost.

We at Wyrd Miniatures would like to thank everyone who joined in this contest, from those that entered, left comments, voted or just browsed the entries. Thanks go out to you all and we hope that you enjoyed this round of Wyrd contests and join us for the next one!

Till next time!

Thank you Demonherald! I really didn't expect to win... and it seems quite funny to me how you can win Best Base or Diorama while you're 2nd in the Diorama category? I'm not saying I should have been first, more that I expected r2-j1 to win Best Base or Diorama.

I guess it's the conception of base or diorama..Diorama being the full setting and the story of the piece..Base being the actual basework..I was third in that I think for my succubus lava base....

I believe it had more to do with the theme of the HH vs. the actual base work. Some saw the theme better kept to for the combative or confrontational bit, thus Ryan won that one, but overall presentation and base work won out for your piece.

Yeah kinda wyrd how that ended up, best in show, but second in category:lol:

Congrats to Bren though. It was a lovely piece, and I have no complaints. It was a tight race in all the categories we competed in. Close but no cigar for me on the all around polls. I never expected to be even close in the overall category, let alone tied for second.

Well done and congrats to everyone who won something.

This was not a good contest for me. I really enjoyed painting my mini but not so photographing it. I have a couple of points (cover your ears, Im about to moan!)

I painted NQDY entry 4, with the weapon swap. I enjoyed painting this and wanted a cartooney feel with the colours hence bright and bold. Also variation in the colours, red, blue, green, yellow! I thought it looked great but then i couldnt photograph it. If I used a dark background the base came glowing and you couldnt make out the detail. A white background and the colours looked flat.

now I put a hell of an effort into this and have a couple of grumbles. Firstly, I had no idea he had a t-shirt on! when I click on the pics you have even here on the wyrd website, the punk zombies are unpainted. I just thought it was decaying skin! Now that its been pointed out I can see the t-shirt but christ, it was hard. I didnt go for no sheer effect, I just didnt know it was there!

Secondly, and the thing that wound me up was the comments. Now im going to come accross as a git here and I apologise but some of the comments were a joke. I know that when there is a lot of entries to comment on some people (me too) skip what is written about every figure, have a quick glance and put a fleeting comment in. About 30% of the time Ill read the bumph and have a jolly good look and post a more relevant comment. And hey, I love getting feedback but some of it is just complete tatt. On mine someone said they didnt know what was on the base. I wrote what it was in my spiel. Someone also said the skulls were not painted well. They werent skulls, they were faces! there isnt any skulls on my mini. Then, someone thought I had dry-brushed the skin. Does it really look that bad or am I missing something? A lot of people said the skin was not smooth but this must be a problem with the camera cos the highlights are some of the smoothest I have done. Another comment was it was crude and sloppy. That pissed me off no end. I didnt put a serious amount of effort into my mini for someone to say that. And also apparently its glossy too. The base certainly is, I used water effects on it to make it look like a mirky mess he was standing in. The rest is not though.

Im moaning big style and I understand this doesnt do me any good. I just had to get a few things off my chest though, being that I couldnt when the comp was still running. Everyone has an opinion and is entitled to it, its just that some people were so far off the mark with their comments I got really wound up. Its obvious that people have done the "quick glance, not a GD entry" style, had a look at the last comment posted and practically copied what has been said.

Anyway, all this rage was nearly a week ago now and I have calmed down a bit since then. I have came to the conclusion that this is not my best piece and that if I cannot take heavy critisism then dont enter competitions. So that is probably my next step, to step aside and not enter any more comps. It doesnt make me a better painter someone telling me my model looks drybrushed when it blatantly doesnt. All it does is wind me up.

Again, sorry for the rant and sorry to all the people who actually took the time to look at my entry and comment appropriately. Ill not be saying anything else about it cos Im not looking to start a debate.

I will though, say thanks to Nath for running another great comp, the man seems to be a non stop workaholic who puts up with just about anything to keep the masses happy. Look forward to watching the next one.

Congrats, Bren, on Best of Show. You deserved it. And congrats to all the winners and participants, and thanks to Nathan, Wyrdo's and all for putting this on. It was a ton of fun, and I'm pretty happy with my effort. Thanks also for all the great comments; that Dark Sword wizard was actually more fun to paint than I thought it would be, and I'm just glad so many liked how it turned out.

Congrats to all the winners! I was quite pleased with my placing--my first time in the top 3 at a Wyrd contest. Unfortunately for me, the two outstanding entries ahead of mine also placed1-2 in Best of Show. Thanks so much to everyone for commenting and of course, Nathan and the crew for putting on another great contest.

Thanks to Nathan for running this contest! This was my first real mini contest and I am very pleased to have placed in my category. Thanks to everyone who entered, and congratualtions to all for all that fantastic work. All the pieces were great (and some were down right either awesome or hilarious), and it was an honor to have been a part of it. I look forward to the next contest. Congrats everyone!
