By now many of you have received your packages in the United States and by early next week, those folks overseas should have theirs. I've spent a fair amount of time on the Wyrd Miniatures, packaging, sorting and trying to make certain everything is just 'so' and my wife of course has come behind me and fixed everything she thought could be better.

:D

I'm curious as to your thoughts on the miniatures themselves, packaging, invoice .. whatever. If you have any comments, suggestions, questions or critique I'm interested in hearing it so that I can make things work as well as they can for future releases. What works, what doesn't, everything just perfect or something that can be tweaked?

Thanks to the many of you who have dropped a kind word privately! Remember to show off your painting here on the Wyrd website as well when you are finished.

I'm very satisfied with the packaging, the invoice, and even the little piece of candy I got in my box! (did eveyone get that?)

I absolutely love the minis. Killjoy is my favorite for some bizarre reason. I've a question though....He wasn't sculpted to be anatomically correct was he? It may just be a bit of flash, but I'm quite sure it looks like hes got some dangly parts. I'm a little scared to touch it.

Anyhow congrats on making this customer happy!

(laughing)

I actually debated doing some flash cleaning on that area of Killjoy before sending out all the packages but decided I just couldn't do it. Killjoy is CASTRATED - no danglies and if he has any, its flash and go ahead and take it right off. If you take a look (its like a train accident, you don't want to, but you will), you'll see that he is scared and has sutures/stitches in the area where his buisness would normally be.

As for the candy - heh, that was my wifes little touch and I found out about that halfway through the packaging process, I got a bit of a tickle out of it, and hopefully in the near future when things are a bit more automated, my wife will make an appearance online to help out with things and to mother everyone a little bit.

I got my package yesterday. Looking good! I don't really have any suggestions. The candy was a nice touch :).

Just got mine today. Very nice. The bishop sculpt is very clean, vickky has a little more noticable mold lines but nothing horrible. I don't really have any suggestions at the moment. Great stuff Nathan.

BTW the candy in the box was cool, but my mommy says that I can't except candy from strangers or stange men. :hahaha: crap: :hahaha:

Got MINE!

These are wonderful miniatures. I was curious how large they would compare to Reaper Miniatures and they look great. One thing I couldn't understand though was how Reaper could say their miniatures are 28mm heroic. If that's the case, they have some GIANT miniatures and the scale creep sort of got up there without anyone really noticing.

Does anyone have any early Reaper miniatures to compare to the newest Reaper miniatures for size difference?

Back to the Wyrd Miniatures though. Love them! All of mine were in great condition and I had just the tiniest bit to fix on Baby Kades knife! All miniatures need some preperation and these take less than most I think.

More! More! More!

Has anyone painted Bishop yet?

Received my order today, Nathan, and it's fantastic. Give the wife some loving for that extra touch, it makes for a memorable moment. Love that the colors match your site.

The minis are beautiful. I'm liking Bishop even more, now that I have it in hand. Although, I haven't a clue as to what he will be used for. The scale is perfect with our (Dark Age) human figs so that does open all sorts of possibilities.

Packaging, very nice. I would recommend padded envelopes for smaller orders like mine, though.

Excellent job.

Pleased to hear it Pr0fane. To be honest I haven't lined them up against any DAG stuff as of yet though I really should do that, but I'm pleased to hear that they keep in scale for people that invest in larger systems.

As for the packaging - I invested in a large amount of boxes thus I got them as the bulk discount though I have to admit I didn't much look at cost of envelopes. My biggest thing was that I want everything to arrive in one piece, not banged up, squashed, etc so I figured a little bit of overkill would be better than half arsed.

:D

I hope that's the case anyhow.

Well, the boxes definitely accomplish that. As your volume increases, you'll need to consider the envelopes. Note that I didn't say "if". ;)

Note; Viktoria must be european...I had to shave her pits. :P

Go ahead, all you lovely european ladies...bash me for that categorization. It's an unqualified comment as I have no personal experience with anything but Canadian & American women. But I've "heard".

Thanks for the advice and the happy thoughts there, you're likely correct on the envelopes as we've got quite a few goodies lined up here in the very near future and that is something I should likely consider.

As for the Viktoria pits comment ... excuse me while I walk quietly away so as to not draw attention to the potential prey animal.

Just got my order (Bishop and Viktoria) and they both arrived in great shape. Very little clean up will be needed for either of them  I really like your invoicing too-it's layed out well and easy to read and has every little bit of information I could possibly ever need about my order on it. The packaging is awesome! I'm always looking for small boxes to organize basing materials etc in and this one will work perfectly for that. I do agree with Pr0fane tho-as awesome as the boxes are you're probably going to have to switch to padded envelopes for smaller orders to keep your costs down. I've received mini's in padded envelopes and they've fared well in the postal system for the most part. I think if you wrapped a bit of bubble wrap them for extra padding they'd be just fine in a padded envelope.

My order arrived in good time but the big guy was damaged, his cleaver was broken off. To make matters worse, the bag was open and the cleaver was loose in the packaging and got binned.
Luckily for me I spotted he was missing a bit and rescued it before I emptied the bin and lost it for good.
I can fix it with some pinning so no real harm done.
The sweety was nice too.
Generally I was pleased with the whole transaction, I spent considerably more money with Rafm a few weeks before I placed your order and theirs still hasn't arrived so well done to you.
I mentioned you on TMP and got a (small) chorus of assent so you must be doing something right :thumb:
Keep up the good work!

You know, if nothing else, I have to smile to hear people saying that I should actually scale back just a bit and save some money and keep the same quality. Thanks! I think I would rather overdo than under and I'm glad that we managed it well to start.

Alrighty - looking up padded envelopes tonight.

Ok, there is a post around somewhere that I read that - was it TMP - that had the cleaver missing. I'm hoping it was yours, and not another big fella that had is cleaver broken. Glad that it can be fixed and you are pleased with it though!

Seriously though folks, I've said it more than once, but if someone ends up with something that got past the quality control or you aren't happy with something, just holler and we'll work something out as I want all the folks purchasing from us to be pleased.

As for your RAFM order Matakishi, heh, there is a whole thread devoted to them here on the Wyrd forums. It's easier to get your money back than to get an order from them. I suggest you go through Noble Knight Games to get your orders for RAFM stuff if you can.

Actually, I found your old e-mail to me - that's where I read it (whew!). Been so busy around here things sort of run together but I hate for the idea of something not coming out as it should.

Anyhow, get painting! Dying to see what you people come up with.

As a footnote to my earlier post, I put a complaint about their customer service on the rafm boards and received a very prompt reply (after my post was nuked :D) containing the information I needed about my order with them.

A result I think.

Okay well this is a little late but I got my order of Viktoria and Bishop and they are great. I really like the packaging (where did you get those shipping boxes? http://www.morgankeithstudios.com/smilies/biggrin.gif )

So far I've only had time to clean and assemble Vik (I know, FF, I have drawings to finish!) and it was pretty straightforward. There was a pretty serious mold line around her and some flash in between her right arm/torso but nothing a little filing didn't fix. I decided to pin her hands and they are quite small for that but I feel it necessary since the swords are out there and suscptable to bumping into stuff.

Shipping was quick and the online cart works great. They are terrific figs and I'm really looking forward to seeing the next batch.

I bought them myself as well and have Viktoria put together. I decided to go against pinning the hands as I don't think its that important, and I didn't want to go through the trouble. I did extract a promise from Double F to make them easier though!

Have a bit of paint on Baby Kade.

I have not recieved any miniatures of yours yet.

I have not recieved any miniatures of yours yet.

That is likely due to the payment never having gone through. I remember your order, a large one actually, but the payment through paypal was never made.

I get quite a bit of this actually as people decide they don't want to purchase them or find they don't have funds with paypal or some credit card and thus quit out before finishing up an order. After about the 40th one (mainly I figure people are looking to see what S&H is, etc - instead of looking in the FAQ section) I stopped e-mailing everyone about it as I seemed as if I was bothering people.

Got the minis on Monday, but was too busy to post till now (working at holydays tends to do that).

Got 3 Victoria, nice sculpts, cast a bit of flash and a faint mold line on all 3 but nothing serious or out of ordinary.

Overall I am really happy from every aspect of the order and look eager to see what releases you hold for us in the future.

P.S.
The candy was a really nice touch and I gave one Victoria as Christmas gift to a friend he was really happy about the figure, a work well done again :) .

Glad they got to you in good order and that your pleased with them. :D

As for the flash and mold - yeah, we had a few come through that looked like they didn't get enough attention when being cast but that has been sorted with the caster and things should be much better here in the never future and with the next releases. Sorry for the added bit of prep work there!

I marked the center of her wrists with an X-acto knife and then drilled with a 1mm hand drill. It works but it's close. I think the 0.6mm drill Anders mentionned to me is going on my to by list ;).

Hi Witchfire, welcome to the forums and thanks for taking the time to post here.

First, sorry about the cleaver, if you need a replacement or it just doesn't look right, let me know and I'll be happy to get another Killjoy to you.

For Viktoria and the pinning, heh, yeah, I have gotten a few comments about this and we are making certain that this isn't an issue for future releases. Some folks pin them, as Greenstuff above pointed out, but I myself actually only super glued them on, and then proceeded to toss her on the floor a couple of time as well as about the room (she was my test piece) and the hands never once came off. Granted, I bent her sword while doing that, but that would happen whether she was pinned or not.

So, unless she's going to get a LOT of handling, you might just want to use glue instead of pinning, but to each their own, and more to the point, we've heard loud and clear that ya'll want a bit of extra room when it comes to pinning.

Wife says 'your welcome' for the candy (she still gets a tickle out of folks enjoying the candy she just tossed in on a whim).

Yes, with this 0.6 drill bit I can pin basically anything. I didn't have it when I did the studio job on Victoria though, but I managed to pin the hands with a 1.0 mm drill, but it was tight... Make sure you have a carefully marked point in the centre where the drill can be 'locked' if you're going to pin the hands.
