Does anyone else find CMON's layout to be a little confusing and hard to navigate?

There IS kinda a lot of stuff there, and sometimes I still have to hunt down links even though I've gotten kinda used to it. I'm just getting really frustrated recently with how slow it's running. It's like having dial-up all over again! :hmpf:

yeah, it's not the most user friendly to say the least, but once you're used to it there really isn't much problems getting around.
The recent slowness was a big ol pain, but seems better the last couple days since the last time the site was down

At first it can be a little hard to use, but one gets used to it.
How fast does it run on DSL or cable, it seems super speepy to me and I have only dial-up?

It's been days I accessed CMON for the last time. After being down for some days, the only thing I get now is
Got error 28 from Table handler
But bfore that, I admit, it wasn't/isn't the most userfriendly thing I know. Took some time to get acquainted

Well I have to say I am pretty new to CMON, having only ever looked at linked images on there. But I was on there last night and signed up for an acocunt and I think its one of the worst laid out sites, especially when you consider the number of users and the cost they are generating for ebay listings, and advertisings...$120.00 a quarter? .75 cents an ebay listing?
Of course I do have an alterior motive for finally signing up for an account there. :o)
Nothing bad mind you.
As for the slowness of the site, I would guess its because of the heavy traffic, if their statistics are true then they probably need more bandwidth, and better servers to run the site on. Possibly a dedicated host.
So if there was to be an alternative to CMON, what would you like to see on it? I mean features?

CMON isn't the only one on the net. The last to date is :
http://www.agorainminiatura.it/
But there are also plenty of others. I tend to stick to CMON because I appreciate a lot of the forum denizens ... strangely enough, the most interesting have migrated over here :P.

that agorain site is way too slow. I gave up waiting.
Of course CMON has been off line what seems like 3 days out of every week (today included) so I'm getting really frustrated with it.
It's not the most easily understood site I suppose, but not too bad and the content is top drawer.

Nice looking website they have there...but it looks like they are dead...the last news item was from July, and half their links don't work.
Of course I'm not only talking about the whole cool mini or not rating script thing...While I don't dislike the idea...its novel at least...I am thinking of more a site dedicated to painting services, sculpting services, terrain services, and miniature collection cataloging.

They're not dead. Chris is still about, just busy. I'm sure they'll do something with it sooner or later :)

I'm not saying they will never do anything with the site, just that the site seems to be abandoned at the present.

Yes. I wish they'd set it up like Epilogue (http://www.epilogue.net/). It would be much easier to find things.

Working on something similar for mini collectors, painters, sculptors and conversionists now...:) hopefully you will find it helpful and easier to navigate than CMON.
But don't misunderstand me...my goal isnt to recreate CMON, but I am planning on offering some similar services.
