Wyrd Miniatures is off to GenCon Indy! We're loaded up with boxes out the whaazoo (surprisingly more than I figured on), have the truck loaded to the gills and the trailer attached to the back squealing under the pressure of all the metal goodness we're toting off with us.

Stop by and see us in booth #508 where we'll have all of our studio paint jobs on display as well as the metal addiction we've all come to love. We'll have the full lineup of Wyrd minis released to date as well as an additional ten (10!) miniatures which we are pre-releasing at GenCon.

As always, we're going to be running a few specials and give aways during the convention. For every $25USD you spend at the booth, you get a raffle ticket with which you'll have a chance to win one of our studio painted miniatures which will be on display at the convention (purchases are cumulative, $50 gets two tickets, $75 three tickets .. etc). On Sunday we'll be making the drawing for the winner and you can walk home with your prize, or, if you aren't available, we'll send it directly to you at our cost.

Bought one of our shirts? Great! For showing your enthusiasm and support of Wyrd Miniatures at the convention we'll be giving away a free miniature when you stop by our booth proudly displaying your Wyrd'ness. Bring your receipt for when you purchased the shirt please, and only one miniature per person.

Joining the GenCon Painting Contest? Fantastic! If you've painted up a Wyrd miniature, we will be doing the judging for a manufacturers award which we'll be giving away a $100USD coupon which is good at the booth where you can come and snag up the latest releases for nothing. Also, for taking the time to paint a Wyrd miniature, come on by the booth with your painted miniature and contest entry card and we'll give you a free miniature for showing your Wyrd colors!

Lastly, EricJ will be in the booth with us again this year, painting and talking shop and generally being the whipping boy for Wyrd. He is putting together a fun little 'speed painting' contest for the Wyrd denizens. $6USD gets you a miniature that has been cleaned, assembled and primed and then it is up to you to get it painted in the alloted time. Bring your own paint and brushes! Naturally we'll be giving out, yes, you guessed it, a prize for the best painted miniature. Come on by and hassle Eric in order to get the full details of this side excursion which even I don't have the full details on yet (or just what exactly he is going to make me give away for free ...)

Looking forward to meeting everyone, stop by the booth and say hi! Oh ... and buy minis.

:D

Whee! I'm also getting to GenCon on Wednesday so I can be there bright and early for the GenCon opening!

I even made myself a "Duende" nametag I'll be wearing (yeah, cheesy, I know) so you all can spot me. ;)

Looks like this:

Shoot. I'm pretty sure my shirt receipt is long gone, maybe I still have an email to print out. I'll have to check.

Also I won't be there on Sunday, and the Painting contest judging doesn't close till after the convention hall on Saturday. I hope I can get credit for my painted mini before I enter it, instead of after.

Is this GENCON some sort of gaming convention?

I'm heading off too. I stuck a sort of a nametag on the back of my badge, but that thing never has the side facing that I want to have facing.

I'll be working at the Paint and Take area from 4pm to 6pm on Saturday. Average height, fat, glasses, pale, dark hair probably in a big bun, and likely wearing either a Wyrd or Reaper shirt.

If people want to try for a Wyrd dinner, would we like to try to meet around the Paint and Take area (which I believe will be in the Maryland West lobby area in the hallway outside the exhibit hall) If we try to put a speed paint thing together a little later I can go get some paints and whatnot that I'll be leaving in my hotel room if I don't need them otherwise (most of what I brought is only to try to finish a last minute contest entry on Weds night.)

However it turns out, I hope to run into some Wyrd folks while I'm there, and hope everyone who's going has a great time. And that Nathan makes loads of cash and humilates and overworks Eric. ;-> We'll have a computer with us, hopefully I'll have time to check it periodically and see if any plans have gelled.

No GenCon..it involves going outside in August. I don't like to, my skin turns pink. Even in convention centers. Have fun, though, all of you attendees!

Enjoy yourselves, wish I could go, but can't afford the airfare from the UK. I'll have to make do with GD UK.

Well all, I’m off to GenCon!

I’m really looking forward to meeting some of you there, but for those that can’t make it, I’ll see you when I get back. Hopefully we’ll be able to get some pictures up while we’re still there, but that will depend on whether or not we can get net access somehow (really makes me wish I had a laptop). If we can’t, then I’ll set something up when I get back home so that the forum doesn’t get overloaded with pictures; maybe a Flickr account or perhaps even a website.

Anyway, have a great week and weekend. Have fun at DAVECON, Dave!
