New releases from Privateer Press for their Hordes lineup. Skorne and The Legion. A very popular sculptor of late did some of the work here, but I'll let ya'll do the guessing.

veeery nice minis, this range looks really interesting, I like the tusked thing but not the armour. The little landshark fellas look cool too, I hope they are going to sell these seperately.

The human-sized thingys in both are weak, but the Everblight monsters are very nice. I'll just toss the elf in the trash... :thumb:

There's things I like and don't like about each set. I wish the pictures were a little bigger so I could see the minis better.
Here's a link to the page where you can see all four groups: Privateer Press HORDES (http://privateerpress.com/HORDES/default.php?x=world/default)
@ LeadAsbestos: Don't toss the elf away! I'll take it you don't want it! ;)

Don't like them, but perhaps if they had bigger pictures. Can tell they are well painted though!

I can't get over how crappy the humanoids are. Didn't Kev White do a bunch of the Warmachine stuff? They should hire him back! The "hats and claws" just don't cut it...

I just don't understand this range. It's set in the same time/universe as Warmachine and the minis are starting to look identical. Those two boxes look like bastardised Cryx and Khador forces.
Don't know whether you can use them in Warmachine. That might be cool. But if it's supposed to be a totally different game, I don't see the point.
Make some big creatures, not more 'Jack-a-likes!!!

I got to see the painted models in person at gencon last weekend, and even picked up a couple of sets (I got Everblight & Circle, my husband got Circle, Everblight & Skorne - I'm still in sticker shock, though, $50 each box!). I think they're very cool. ;)
My husband & I got to play a demo with the Circle vs. Trollblood forces (I played Circle and kicked his booty!). The game played well and was quite a bit of fun. I enjoyed it immensely, and I'm not usually much into the gaming side of things. The mechanics, as I understand it, work somewhat similarly to how warjacks & warcasters in warmachine works, although I've never played warmachine.
The two army 'types' are designed to be able to play against each other and are supposed to be balanced toward that end. However, Hordes players will be at a disadvantage for a while until the armies are filled out. I'm sure that won't take too long past the official release, either. I forgot to ask if you can mix & match, 'cause I'd love to figure a way to put my cryx satyxis in with the circle or everblight army ;)..
The box sets come with a nice quick-start rule sheet & color cards for the models inside. I think my husband said the boxes contained about 270ish points.

Thanks for the info Jubilee :)
off topic: I just noticed you're from Portland! I lived there for 5 years through college and after, and I miss it! :)

Portland is a wonderful city, though it's a bit of a shock coming home to the cold & gloom after warm & sunny California last week.. :) I have lived here my whole life, except for 4 years of college a few hours south. :)
You should move back and teach me to paint as awesomely as you do. :)

ps. With regards to the Hordes army boxes - I'm pretty sure the $50 included the 7.75 (7.15?) % sales tax in California, so retail will probably be a bit less (I'm not mathematical enough to figure out the difference). At least, I wasn't charged any additional sales tax, so I figure it was included in the price. I doubt the Con was a tax-free zone.. :)

That would have been the reason for me to go to SoCal! I shoulda made more of an effort. Trollbloods, Circle, and Everblight are on my shopping list and I would love to have the minis before March! Not too hip on the Skorne for some reason, though. Red Dark Elves?
The Everblight remind me of GW's Tyranids and according to the description seem to play similarly in the game too. Now my wife will have a PP army to kick my ass with like in 40K! They're even painted the same way.
:offtopic: We made a trip to Seattle a few years ago and it was terrific. We love that area of the country. Come and visit Texas during any August and you will pine for home.
