Bloody hell, not again. Not 9 months ago they broke into my car by breaking open my car door and getting my car total loss in the proces of an unsuccesfull attempt to steal the air-bag. Now with my new car they tried again. This time they only managed to bend the door and were likely interupted as the damage was limited to that. End result is I one more had to give up a free day from work (my holliday days I have left to plan are wearing thin like this) and sped it being cranky at the policestation, garage and dealing with the insurance. The whole door needs to be replaced. They bended back the door so i can drive now without the damage beng visible on te outside (it is on the inside and the window doesn't work well, so I have to keep that closed).

I swear I'm gonna put 220 volt on the door to see who does it.. grrrr

Sorry to hear that.
I didn't realize people were breaking into cars to steal air bags.

Yea seems a bit daft, what is somebody going to do with an airbag?

Having an airbag replaced after an accident is VERY expensive...Obviously, someone figures they can capitilize on that.

Or they were looking for a sleeping bag....

Sorry for your troubles Cindy...I've had my car broken into before too...its a very helpless feeling.

If it's not nailed down they will steal it. If it is nailed down they will steal the nails too.

:D

Cindy should know where that comes from...

Yeah the Feegles :) But cows and liqour generally aren't nailed down ;)

The airbags they can sell in poland apparently for a nice profit (beating the stolen radio profit by a fair margin. Especially nw the radio's have seperate fronts you can take of to keep them from being stolen and usefull to thiefs) This time they might actualy have been wanting to steal the car. Noone knows, they never got that far. Good thing is I can still drive the car now they bended the door back without problems. So it's not nearly as bad as last time. But still I had this not again feeling and I did feel like driving said car over the ones who did it.

I't just not my day. My computerscreen died on me to so I'm writing this on my boyfriends laptop now. I am gonna try and buy a new screen this weekend. If I don't succeed I fear IP round 3 is a loss for me as i have no way to put up any pictures wthout my own computer. But I think I should be able to manage it. Just have to drag the boyfriend along to actually help buy the screen. I'm an absoluut computerscreen noob and have no clue what to get. Atleast I now have the car again to go to the store to get a screen. I swear if I get another money eating whatever this week I'm gonna scream.

Geez, Cindy, I remember the last time. Ugh, time to invest in a car alarm too I think.

At least it's not as bad as last time, maybe you should console yourself by doing more "interesting" things on your boyfriend's "laptop" ;) :p:

You know, it kills me that they didn't just make it simple, duct tape the window and then crowbar the damn thing, crawl in and get what they want. HAS to be easier than tearing a door off its hinges.

Think its time you invest in a car alarm.

Sorry to hear about it Cindy.

My sympathies.

To commiserate to some small extent, my car has been leaking antifreeze for a little while now, so I took it into the shop today. The initial estimate for repairs is ~$700 (US).

Just keep bottles of antifreeze in the trunk.

Damn!! Cdukino, I’m sorry this happen to you once again, infuriating as hell.

My dad’s custom van was stolen from the front driveway not once but twice. As we live next to the Mexico border you can guess why. The last time, the “Coyotes” totaled and stripped the thing. May they be cursed with PD.

Damn! I just read today that Eindhoven has beaten Rotterdam to being the most dangerous town in the Netherlands crimewise. It look like a lot of criminal are now turning to our corner of the country since the other major cities are investing more and more in safety!

Sorry to hear about your car. If you need any help with something, let me know. You know where to reach me.

Bye, Ming-Hua

Apparently it was joyride night yesterday night. Some more cars was damaged. A car from a lady 2 streets away they did manage to steal and joyride it... found it back broken and total loss a bit further away. Looks like my car was saved the worse case scenario

Chances of finding joyriders may be better than professional thieves. I hope they catch them fast!.

You have my sympathies Cindy. My car was broken into last year - I forgot to take the snatch plate off the radio, the b*****ds took it. It was only 6 months old & was a birthday present :(
