I uploaded my entry in my member gallery as well if anyone ever look at those... ;)

Thanks to all that voted and commented on it in the competition! :D

Some people (forgot who...) commented on the shading being dark, and this was very deliberate on my part. I wanted to get the feeling of an overhead light source which is sort of limitied by the branches of the trees in the forest so that it is quite narrow and only light her straight from above. Thus, the areas not reached by the light would be very dark. A bit far-fetched perhaps, but I quite like how it came out nonetheless! :)

I posted it on CMON too, so if anyone wants to vote for it a second time... ;)

Iv commented over at CMoN, gave this a 9.5

My only nit pick is the shoulder blade is to starkly highlighted, which gives the impreesion her neck is very deepset and her shoulders are very square and angular. (Though these really are nit picks!)

Fantastic job!

@ matty - I'm going to guess you meant collarbones since shoulderblades are on the back and that's mostly covered by her hair.

But anyway, I thought she was great, Anders, some of the best skin I've ever seen painted. My only nit-picky thing is that there's nothing about her that says "nymph", she just looks like a regular naked human chick out for a stroll in the woods. It's my opinion, but I've always thought mythological beings should have something that suggests their "otherness" in depictions of them. Does that make sense?

Otherwise, great!, I gave her a 10!

I see what you mean, Michelle, but my impression of nymphs have always been they appeared to be fairly normal and that's why people got lured by them. :) I did try to make her facial expression look a bit vicious to make her more nymph-ish, though!

Anyway, thanks for your comments (and votes)! :)

Oh come on, Anders! You know nobody's looking at her face! ;)

Very nice work (as always)

This was one of my favorites and got my vote in her category and for the base as well.

Yes... hmmm.... I should have made her tits and ass more nymph-ish, perhaps. But I have no clue how... :hmmmm: ;)

@Gunji
Thanks! :)

I thought this at first glance also. Okay, I tell a lie. My very first thought when I saw this one was 'crap, Ritual painted the same fig I did, only 3000x better, and I'll never be any good, and now I'm going to go sit in a corner for a while and cry'. ;-> After I finished crying and took a second look, my thought was 'the base is well-done, but what's with the naked chick wandering in a forest, and why does she look so cranky?' Then when going through the directories to do my comments I actually read the description on my third look, and the forest base and facial expression came together and made sense. Though I'll admit it's probably not ideal that I had to read the description to fully get the concept, but this is a stellar piece of painting by any measure, and got one of my votes.

That is one of my favorites in this category which is probably the highest contested. I agree with the collarbone and not so Nymph comment. Other than that its really well painted. Maybe just beacuse it such a plain model it does need some extra bits to catch the heart of the viewers.

excellent work indeed my only nitpick is the inside hand grasping her arm in pic number 1 and especially number 2 looks more pink like the highlight was forgotten at the final stage, I thought it could be the pics but I see the difference in 2 pics so I had to mention it to a top painter as yourself... great work though..what are the things wrapped in the bundle?

I think the "things in the bundle" are a log, where the bark has fallen away partially, revealing the wood underneath.
