View Full Version : Freebooter Succubus
Hi everybody,
here's my latest mini, the Freebooter Succubus having a nice day at the beach. I wanted to enter her in the Femme Fatale II competition, but unfortunately I wasn't able to finish her in time. Comments and advice to improve my painting are welcome. Thanks!

Hi Bren, welcome to the Wyrd.
Very nicely done and I think she would have done you well in the contest. I like the purple in particular as well as the bathing suit. Not a fan of the talons on the end of the wings but that's a sculpt issue vs. painting.

Would have worked well as a entry for the latest round of Iron Painter!
This is very good stuff Bren. Very smooth and clean, and great attention to detail....wonderful stuff!
I love how you painted the bikini, and the little details of the beach are great - sunscreen, pail and shovel and all! I feel like the skin needs maybe another level or two of highlights in the key spots like under the eyes, elbow, etc.

If you'd have held onto her just a couple weeks you could have walked away with a mini for Round 1 of IP.
Funky cool color combo. I would say lack of depth of shadows on the skintone would be my strongest critism. A bit more integration of teh base with teh mini would help as well. As it is they feel like two very seperate things. More shading to the sand or really to the things on teh sand which look rather flat would help. The freehand and the NMM, as well as the color transition on the wings are really nice.

The NNM on the blade is really mind blowing, as well as the little details on her bikini. It's hard for me to imagine a succubus having a good time at the beach however. And like Skya pointed out, more depths to the skin would be nice. Very nice mini overall.
