Not bad. I think I expected something a bit darker with Dorthy so I'm a bit let down there as I guess I had something 'built up' in my head. Not a bad miniature overall though really.

oh, don't worry Nathan, I have a few ideas how to make Dot dark, I actually think the sculpt will be perfect for my little plans :goodbad:
I'm actually quite happy with all of these! :)

I'm kind of :goodbad: with these. The Dorothy fig is nice but doesn't look like Dorothy (Alice is way cooler), the samouraļ/gladiator is wielding a tooth pick IMHO, the kids are the funniest (in a cool sense).

I guess I'm going to be the critical one...
The munchkins are "interesting" (ok, they're just disturbing), and Dorothy seems a bit lackluster in comparision to them. I'm just not a fan of knock-kneed poses. The samurai-looking guy is interesting, except I don't like the limp-wristed way he's holding his sword :tapedshut... He just doesn't look aggressive enough.
Well, those are my thoughts..

I may have to make my first Spyglass purchase. I like all the zO stuff so far. If the Tinman and the Lion pan out, I'll get the lot.

I like all these mini's except for the limp wrist on Gladiator boy......what's the deal there?.........looks like he's demonstrating the latest cutting technique for a new knife, on special, buy it now, free pestage if you buy 2......you know what I mean!
........OK I'm rambling now!! :imsorry:

I like them all.
I think the sweetness of Dot is a great contrast to the munchkins and possibly the "darker" ideas that Steve has for the rest of the range.
The 54mm Gladiator guy was sculpted mainly by Neil Roberts and touched up by Steve.....just a little info there. I sort of agree about the sword, doesn't quite fit the rest IMO.

Is Dot wearing a straight-jacket (sp?) or is that just wishful thinking? :bird:

nope, that's a straightjacket :)

I like the idea of that being a straight jacket, that helps me with her quite a bit I must admit as that takes it in a bit of a 'twist' like I was wanting earlier from her. Think it needs some straps to cement the straight jacket look though.

It has the trademark straitjacket strap, it's just not overly apparent in the pics. The strap hangs from her right sleeve (note the loop on the left sleeve to attach) and is then wrapped around the brick in her hand.

Aha, I was wondering when we would pull you out of your den.
:D
I see them now that they are pointed out. Subtle. Like I said, that helps me a lot with this sculpt as it has that 'twist' that I was expecting. As it is, I was seeing it as some great captains coat or something. Sorry, bugger me eyes and all that, but I like knowing it is a straight jacket.

Like dorothy. Munchkins don't do it for me.
The gladiator has pieces here and there that would work on other minis.
The wrist: classic fencer's parry 1-disarming parry. But he's not a classic fencer, it's not a rapier, and he's leaning way off balance for a trained fencer.
The sword, if it is a sword, looks a bit like a yard stick. Perhaps he's just been rapping knuckles?
The face is very cartoonish. From the right he suggests Cohen the Barbarian.
That's my opinion. Now I'm off to check out the other ones you folks are talking about.
[edit] okay, I give up. Where can I see the rest of zO?

The gladiator dude looks gay. It's that limp wrist. Don't look right to me. :imsorry:

That's what I thought, too. I just didn't want to come right out and say it. He looks like he's critiquing his opponent's wardrobe.
Nothing an exacto blade and a little green stuff couldn't fix, though...
:nurse:
I can't help it, but Dorothy's jacket looks a few straps short and one collar too much for being a straightjacket. Those look more like this:

Never said it was a straitjacket. Just that it has a trademark straitjacket strap. And I think you missed the obvious. Straitjackets fasten at the back. They're not designed for the ease of the wearer.
So, not a straitjacket but with straps. Wonder what that could mean?

Bondage & Domination? :tongue2: Look at the munchkins...with those chains and collars *grins*

A new fashion style ?
E(dna) trying some new stuff?
Dot was abducted by the evil munchkins . They wanted to drown her so they attached a brick to the strap. Unfortunately they forgot to take care of her hand(s). So she defended herself...that's why the first munchkin looked so battered ...and that's why she has the brick still in hand.... because the new munchkins are comning down (up?) on her
...and one collar too much for being a straightjacket.
Nope. Actually there ARE straightjackets with collars (and I'm not speaking about those high glossy fetish garments). Seems to me I had seen a modell a few years ago in Germany or Netherland. If I find the link again I will post it here.

I definately have also seen "style straight-jackets" which are essentually flipped around like this so they open in the front, and the sleaves shortened so they're not way too long like real ones...basically exactly how the sculpt has it :)

Well, I actually got the picture I used here from a German fetish site, which sells this jacket along with other "fun" items... :whip:
Would you like me to PM you a link???? ;)
And Eric, you know so much about straightjackets....how??? :hmmmm: :vb_devil:
