IRON PAINTER 3 has arrived!

Back by popular demand...

The IRON PAINTER is gearing up to begin its third season!

Please include your name below if'n you want to participate.

The rules are relatively simple....Each round (2 weeks in length), you are matched up head to head (random draw) against another painter and given a 'theme' you must incorporate into your mini painting.

A group of impartial judges votes on each, the highest scorer of each matchup moves onto the next round....the loser pays a 'fee' of a miniature to the victor, and then we repeat...UNTIL THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!

More complete rules will follow, but please sign up now if you are willing to participate. Be warned though, its not for weak painters...only IRON Painters can succeed!!

Most of us will paint with what we have because the time limit means you can't mail-order the perfect mini. Two things are key - Idea & skill. You have to come up with the idea fast enough, and you have to be able to execute it better than your opponent.

For those who are curious about the length of the competition (I recall someone back there asking) with the current number of contestants we are looking at 5 rounds for the top two contestants each round being 2 weeks. The number of rounds wont change unless we get at least 11 more contestants in which case it would go up to a total of 6 rounds for the top two contestants.

I'm just getting back into the habit of painting after a bit of a hiatus. A challenge might be good to keep be going. And I can probably pick up some other projects again after the first round, anyway. ;)

IRON PAINTER: Season 3: THE RULES
The list of participants will be randomly paired up and the "THEME INGREDIENT" will be announced. We will have a cutoff date of THURSDAY March 1, 2007 for participants

Once announced, the participants have two weeks to prepare and paint a mini. Deadline to upload your finished picture for ROUND ONE will be SATURDAY March 17th by 6pm CENTRAL STANDARD TIME

Judging will be done by a panel of WYRD experts. Duende, Skya, Frustrated Father, and Ritual.

Use of THEME INGREDIENT..... 0-5 points
Technical Quality/difficulty........0-5 points
Overall Asthetic.......................0-10 points


The Winners from the 1st round will be announced, Random Pairings and a NEW THEME INGREDIENT will be announced shortly after, and we repeat the process.

The LOSER will be asked at that point to send to his or her victor, 1 miniature or $5 dollars (american) Paypal.


MINIATURE CHOICE- This is completely to the participants discretion.


This activities main goal is just to have fun and build community spirit.

If problems do arise and bad feelings need to be directed, make sure they are pointed at me, and not to the site.
