View Full Version : What Not To Do

There are plenty of threads out there about how to do various things like blending, basing, highlightling, osl, etc., but you don't really see many threads about what you avoid doing or just plain DO NOT do altogether.

I'll give an example to start this off:

When using a can of spray paint or, as in my case, primer, never assume that even after shaking the bejeezes out of it and can no longer hear any hissing sound when pressing down on the nozzle, that all the propellent has left the can.
Therefore, DO NOT attempt to get out whatever few drops paint/primer may be left inside by removing the nozzle and poking something into the top of it in an effort to extract what may be left inside. Believe me, that can still has plenty of pressure left, and takes great offense to being poked at. The whole experience has left me with one hand considerably whiter in color than the other and rather red in the face as well.

So just consider this a warning to the rest of you! Don't poke your cans!!

-Just a helpful tip from Duende

Also, don't use too much excessive force when you try to unscrew the lid of a pot of ink that you haven't used for a while... Can be a bit messy...

Similarily, if the paint doesn't come out of a dropper bottle with modest pressure, don't just squeeze harder, rather poke the dropper tip with a pin to open it up.

Bah! Who reads the can further than where it says "Black" or "White"?
Nobody reads warning labels, why else would so many stupid accidents happen? :stupido2:

@ Wren- :embarasse Yep, I've done that too. PMS and painting don't always mix, especially when you don't have any pins handy.

Splat!

OK, you all can stop laughing at me now! :hahaha:

Don't feel bad Duende, something like that happened to me but with an airbrush! I thought that the needle was clogged... but to my utter surprise just an air pocket and a face full of blue paint! Cheers!
