Really like this one:

Ghazgull/Mek (http://uk.games-workshop.com/download/popup.htm?/goldendemon/2005season/images/winners/c04-gold.jpg)

I've got a Ghazgull awaiting this treatment but I've been reluctant to pay £8 for the Black orc banner for the headswap....oh well that's what credit cards are for after all!

Thanks for the link Anders, lots of great stuff there. I look at that elf, or any of Kirills work and it makes me feel down right amaturish

These are absolutely beautiful. It really is upsetting when a 'youngblood' can paint better than most adults.

Wow! Those are incredible!

Here's a link you may find interesting. It's a site that has pics of the Golden Demon winners over the last several years. Golden Demon Winners (http://demonwinner.free.fr/) Gosh, some of the winners form years ago probably wouldn't even make first-cut in today's GD's.

Here's an example:

@Duende
Yes, I've thought the same thing. One should keep in mind though, that the old photos from 20 years ago are pretty crappy, but there's no denying there have been some huge leaps in quality and technical mastery.

I definately think that 2005 has been a "pushing the envelope" type of year in painting, I wonder if 2006 will continue the pace or slow as people get ahold of everything new to take in...Will be interesting to watch :)

Above all, I think the number of really great entries will increase making it harder on the judges and there will likely be more questionable decisions on their behalf.
