Well folks, here we go for our next round....

The RULES are still here:

http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?t=1173

The only changes are the DEADLINE, which is

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 4th, 6 PM Central Standard Time (iowa time look it up!)

The Matchups are as Follows:

These were RANDOMLY drawn (all names in a hat) and paired as follows....

Lavon Yor vs. War Griffon

Sculpta the Squig vs. Stupid Cow

Wren vs. Skya

Maestro vs. Beezlebrush

And now for the theme.

I had 15 themes that I assigned numbers to (1-15) and used this to randomly generate a number http://www.random.org/nform.html

It chose number 8, which turns out to be.....

(drum roll)

MAGIC EFFECTS!

Again how you interpret this is up to you. It could be the lightning bolt of a wizards staff, a plasma recoil of a bolter rifle, smoke from a dragons nose...whatever you decide. Just remember the judges interpret the theme as well....PLEASE THE JUDGES!! LOL

No limit to miniature (anything less that 1:1 scale works for me) No limit to manufacturer....it just has to be a newly painted mini and has to be uploaded by the deadline.

The Third ROUND of the 2nd Season of IRON PAINTER, begins....

NOW

I believe that the magic effect has to be done with painting and converting. I doubt adding grafical effects on the picture itself with photoshop is allowed. Has nothing to do with actually making the miniature acording to the theme. If this is what you ment in the first place.

Oh, go ahead and get complacent, you're the acknowledged belle of this ball and without even considering painting skill, far outstrip me in creativity. Wargriffon can make up a lot of things. A winning entry won't be one of them.

I am eating nothing but Lucky Charms for the next two weeks, cause they are Magically delicious.

Actually Wargriffon, Vicegomer is right. You can relax and whip something up on November 3 and probably kick my keister, just like Vince and monki did.... NOT!

Let's see if I can provoke some smack from my current opponent as opposed to my past opponents.

I hope that War "Merv" Griffon sticks with the GW range since they are so universally loved. Since his first round was 40K and his second was fantasy, I guess the next round will be LOTR. Let's see, another tired old Magneto, uhhh I mean Gandalf or Count Dooku, oops, Saruman. WAIT, what about Rhadagast the Brown! Pull the handle and flush him down.

Actually, best of luck, WarGriffon....

You may not need those chickens. Picked myself up a nasty case of broncitis, we'll see how much time I actually have for this one. Painting while hacking up a lung is not the easiest thing in the world. Though I suppose I could just spend this week getting better, and spend way too much time next week working on paint. ;)

Hmm, I agree, disturbing. Uh, I think you can keep him on your cheering squad after all, Skya! ;-> I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, although I never doubted about the competition. For one thing, I'm foolishly clinging to the dream that I can manage something for Rotten Harvest AND this, so all I've got done is concept, some prep and a few other odds and sods, full on painting time has been going into something else.

Frustrated Father
11-03-2006, 01:34 AM
Which mailbox? PM or nathan@wyrd-games.net?

If it is the e-mail, then no clue, but that shouldn't happen and I haven't had any issues of late that I know of. If its the PM, mine, or yours? I'm setup for 100 PM's on my end (I could make it unending, but frankly, I check them daily and delete most of them after a reply, every now and again though I manage to get a ton of PM's or am gone for a couple of days) and regular smoes get ... 50-100 ... hell I don't remember.

For PM's it is more about the database keeping track of it then bandwidth.

I had a project planned out and so I took this oppotunity to paint it up. In fact I would have done something w/o the use of OSL if not for that. Here's something I did few years back.

Yeah I have to admit with only the finger ray standing out as a new techinque to having gone a bit more traditional on this for one main reason. Between being sick and having a trip planned this weekend I only had a single week in which to do her. I *really* wanted to have time to do up her little ghoulie servants and experiment with making them into actual spell effects by using a monchrome blue techique on thier skin and hair. Was undecided on if I should do it on their clothes as well. We'll see as I do the rest of the set up over the next week. I think I shall create an in progress log over in the showcase section and if you're curious you can keep track of how she ends up. :)
